TriSetters began with one special dog—Demi.

In 2020, after losing her longtime companion, Karen set out in search of her next partner and discovered the field-bred English Setter. That journey led her to First Harmony Farms and Demi—the remarkable dog who became the foundation of TriSetters and the heart behind everything it has grown into.

Karen is deeply involved in every aspect of the program. From thoughtfully planning each breeding to raising puppies in the home, her focus is on producing dogs that are not only capable in the field, but also steady, intuitive, and a true joy to live with.

Lynette VandeVenter, DVM, of First Harmony Farms in Tiskilwa, Illinois,  

has been part of the TriSetters story from the very beginning.

With the perspective of both an experienced breeder and a veterinarian, she brings a depth of knowledge that continues to guide the program today. Her influence can be seen in every thoughtful breeding decision—prioritizing health, sound structure, and the natural ability that defines the field-bred English Setter.

More than a mentor, Lynette is a trusted friend and partner.

 Lauren has been part of the TriSetters journey since she was young, first working with Demi in the agility ring at just eight years old. Over time, she has grown into an accomplished Junior Handler and an essential part of the TriSetters family.

Today, Lauren plays a hands-on role in raising each litter. She is deeply involved in early puppy development, including daily socialization, exposure, and foundational training. Her connection with the puppies from the very beginning helps shape confident, curious, and well-rounded dogs.

Lauren brings a special kind of heart to TriSetters—built on dedication, patience, and the bond that begins forming from a puppy’s very first days.

 At the center of TriSetters is the reason it all began: the dogs.

Our girls include FHF Miss Demeanor (“Demi”), FHF Artemis (“Arte”), and our newest addition, Loneridge Misty Sunrise (“Misty”)—affectionately known as “MuuMuu.” You can learn more about each girl on our “Our Dogs” page.

Our Setters are far more than just thier pedigrees—they are beloved family members, trusted teammates, and constant companions. They share our home, our routines & everyday life, and they influence the way we raise every litter from the moment each puppy is born. We believe a truly great dog isn’t only athletic and capable—it’s also deeply connected to its people: confident, loving, and eager to be part of the family.

Every TriSetters puppy is raised as if they were meant to stay right here with us—with purpose, intention, and heart.
