Located in the scenic town of Lake Bluff, Illinois, TriSetters is dedicated to breeding exceptional field-bred English Setters known for their intelligence, athleticism, and friendly, people-oriented nature. TriSetters is owned and operated by Karen Malinowski, and the breeding program is proudly guided by Karen’s mentor and close friend, Lynette VandeVenter, DVM, of First Harmony Farms.

TriSetters is hands-on in every aspect of its dogs’ lives and is committed to producing English Setters that are as sound in mind and body as they are capable in the field. With Lynette’s guidance, TriSetters continues to uphold time-honored breeding practices while thoughtfully developing dogs that thrive as both working partners and beloved family companions.

TriSetters is also supported behind the scenes by Karen’s husband, and joined by Lauren—who has been part of the TriSetters journey since she was just eight years old. As a Junior Handler and TriSetters Puppy Raiser, Lauren plays an important role in early puppy development and socialization, helping give each litter an exceptional start.

TriSetters English Setters excel in a variety of pursuits, including hunting, agility, disc, dock diving, obedience, and rally—and when the work is done, they’re just as happy relaxing at home as devoted companions.

At TriSetters, equal importance is placed on health, temperament, structure & function, and performance. Every puppy is raised with thoughtful socialization, enrichment, and care—gently introduced to new environments, sounds, surfaces, people, and experiences to build confidence, resilience, and strong human bonds.
