the history of trisetters

In the summer of 2000, Karen started looking for a new companion after the passing of her 15 year old spaniel/setter mix. After several months of research Karen fell in love with the Setter breed for thier versatility as both a companion and sporting dog.

After reaching out to several reputable breeders, Karen learned about “field” English Setters and decided these smaller setters with their amazing personality and affinity for sports was the breed for her. Under the guidance of Lynette VandeVenter of First Harmony Farms she chose a beautiful tri-colored 8-week-old puppy now named FHF Miss Demeanor aka “Demi” as her very first “field” English Setter and elected to be a co-owner to keep this amazing breeding line alive.

When Demi was 2 years old, under the guidance of First Harmony Farms, Demi was bred against Murphys' Mohawk Ryder and produced 5 amazing puppies. Three of which went to hunting homes and two went to sport homes and all are doing amazing.

After Demi's first litter, the co-owner contract was fulfilled. However, after several discussions with Lynette of First Harmony Farms, we decided to continue the breeding line under TriSetters LLC and have plans to breed Demi again in the future, as well as select offspring as the start of the TriSetters Kennel and breeding line.

TriSetters is committed to keeping our line as diversified as possible and breeding our girls against studs that are exemplary not only in performance but have a strong pedigree with clear health testing.

Our goal is to bring the "field" English Setters back into starring roles not only our homes as amazing companions, but also in AKC, NSTRA and NAVDHA  hunt and field trials, and for the non-hunters in all the other various types competitive events (agility, dock diving, obedience, rally, scent work, fastcat, disc, etc .)
